[ALONE] The first horror or thriller movie that I've ever watched in the cinema. I watched this months ago at Times Square with my best friends : Anson, Seng and Bear. Since it has been quite a long time since i watched this, perhaps i just couldn't really share that more detaily. Anyway, when we firstly decided to watch this movie, I was really excited. Before this, I always wish to have my first experience of watching horror drama in the cinema. It should be exciting and horrible, I guessed. Syokk! So, since the minute we've bought the tickets, I've started to prepare myself, mentally, hahaa, to get frightened and freak out in the cinema. I'm really so so excited, can't wait to reach the showtime, can't wait to be terrified! hahaa.
Around 3 hours later, after finishing our lunch at U-Village Restaurant, Sungei Wang, with our delicious U-Village iced coffee, yuhoo~ it finally reaches the showtime! I've taken a long breathe, and walk into the cinema, finally sit on the seat. (hahaa, of course lar, nonsense!) I keep telling my friends that I'm so nervous yet excited! hahaa, dounno how much frightened I'll get later.
First and foremost before i get deeply into the story. Let me share you my views first. If you take that as a horror and thriller drama, expecting to be terrified and frightened, I guess you may get disappointed like me. To be frank, I do feel that the movie was not terrifying and frightening at all. But anyway, things work differently to different person. One of my friend, Moon, did find the movie scary. Perhaps you too! Anyhow, the important point that i wish to share here is the storyline of the movie. Apparently, as i heard from many responses, horror or thriller movies always turned up meaningless or storylineless. They may be produced simply just to frighten and to scare audience in the cinema together with the booming sound effects. But for [ALONE], I'll probably rate it '0' for the horrors, but seems to praise it for the storyline's sake instead! The storyline conveyed is rather different. It comes in a more special and unpredictable way. For me, "Quite a good job!" to the scriptwriter. What do you think?
" We promised to stay together forever. " This is the popular tagline in the movie. As mentioned in my title, The Movie [ALONE] were as known as [FAET] which conveys the meaning of "twins". Here, you know the story is probably starring twins, and that is absolutely correct! hahaa. [ALONE] focuses on the story between a guy, starring Withaya (The Adult Lee), and of course Marsha, who starred as the twins named Pim and Ploy.
This movie uses more on the flashback techniques. It also featured few stages moderately, which tell us the story of the twins from their kids time, to children, teenagers, and finally adults. The story begins by introducing the adult Pim, together with his lovely husband, Lee, both having their loving and wonderful life. Pim seems to be a very successful woman, owning a perfect life of love, family and career. However, who knows? It then comes to the 1st turning point, whereby Pim receives a call from Thailand. She was told that her mother is seriously ill with unfamilliar disease. Pim then departed back to Thailand with Lee.
Once they have reached Thailand, strange things start to happpened here and there. Painful memories flashing back in Pim very regularly. It then getting more serious and stronger, and finally, the painful yet familiar flashbacks has kind'f haunted Pim while hurting her seriously in trio mentally, psycologically, as well as physically. The story then focuses and tells more when Pim goes back to her old house, with a glasshouse at the yard. The story then slowly reveals the family secret. We get to know that Pim was once a twin, which better known as Siamese Twin.
Through the flashbacks, Pim and her conjoined sister, Ploy, were very close and loving twins. Their relationship went on perfectly until the existence of a nice guy, Lee. Pure love begins to grow sweetly between Pim and Lee, while on the other hand, jealousy and quarrels then started to grow in the twins, and finally, loves has extremely turn into hates. They begins to feel each other as heavy burdens. Their mother then couldn't stand that anymore, she's not willing to see her precious children hurting among each others. And then, she signs, sending her twin children undergo an operation to be separated. But unfortunately, one of them died during the attempt.
And now, the sickly Pim seriously haunted by the painful memories, keep feeling the existence and presence of her other sister, who supposed to be dead. And then the story goes on and on. Secrets hidden behind slowly revealing. I personally quite love the particular ending. The so-called truth seems to be shown. But once you tend to believe it completely, doubts then start to influence, and there another story begins to grow in your mind.
What is the biggest secret actually? Is Pim really meet Ploy? Isn't Ploy has dead since years ago? What else would Lee figures out then?
Check out the movie [ALONE] too, to unfold the secrets yourselves! You'll never know, the truth is always outhere...
